New Technology Welcomes Students in Western Springs

This article is about the new advanced technology that has come about at John Laidlaw elementary school in Western Springs. Teachers here are trying to find new ways to get there students involved in the classroom. They have found that Google Chromebooks are a great way for their students to get excited about doing work and continue to learn at the same time. It states in the article that there are 30 Google Chromebooks in the fifth grade at Western Springs and the students are responding with eager motivation. A Chromebook is a type of laptop that has several google documents on it. It allows students and teachers to write and edit papers as well as quizzes or test. This seems to be an improvement in active learning for the classroom. I definitley see the Google Chromebooks as a positive learning tool for studnts. It also says in the article that there are over 200 ipads issued at Laidlaw elementary school for kids in kindergarten to second grade. I think that the advanced technology is great for classrooms but I do think that kindergarten, first, and second greade are way to young to be dealing with ipads or laptops.
