American Government Concept Map



American Government 

  • Everything that our government does under these subtopics of American Government it to make our own government better. These six topics are all different and all concentrate on one specific aspect of our government. We have politics that are set in place so that no one tries killing each other, it is our governments mediator. Our government is so structured and organized that other countries are wanting to adopt our procedures.


I.       American Government and Politics

II.     Comparative Government

  • The comparative government allows people to study how other countries governments work. They then compare and contrast them to our own. This is a system that helps to better our government by seeing what other governments do better than our government. Some college courses that can be taken are politics of Great Britain, politics of Western Europe, and politics of Latin Government.

  • A.    Comparing our government to other governments

  • B.    Always trying to make our government better

III.    International Relations

  • The department of international relations allows our government to study other governments of different countries. This also helps to improve our government but it is more specific then comparative government. International relations focuses more how we can improve our relations with other countries by war and prosperity. A great college class to take to understand international relations better is US foreign policy.

IV.    Public Law

  • Public law is a little different form the other forms of government. Public law focuses on our legal processes and it always trying to figure out the legal ways of our government. Without public law our government would with no doubt fall apart. It keeps most of the citizens happy and keeps everything ran fairly.

V.     Public Administrations

  • Public administration is the ground work of how our government functions. People who work for the federal government are known as public administrators and it is very hard for any of these people to get fired. People who work under the public administration government are city workers, social security workers, DMV workers, etc.

VI.    Political Theory

  2. I like that you did a subject for high school because no one else really did. It is very organized. Maybe include more pictures. Maybe make the whole thing red white and blue !

  4. Julianne's concept map was organized well. The topics and subtopics were different colors so that made it easier to read. Overall her presentation was good and she seemed to know the content well.

  9. I love this topic, I was a pre-law/polsci major before SPED. I'm such a government/history nerd! You did a great job explaining the topics and subtopics, I like how you geared it towards seniors in high school!! Great Job!!

  11. American government is an important topic that students need to know and have an understanding of since it affects them. I think you are brave choosing this topic because it's not the funniest to teach but as long as you have an interesting way of doing it then you'll be successful
